You can choose to cancel your coverage at any time if you’re getting other health coverage from an employer. But don’t cancel your health insurance plan through BeWell until you know when your new coverage starts.
If your coverage has started and you want to end it for a reason other than death, you can cancel your health insurance plan:
- Last day of the current month;
- Last day of the next month;
- Last day of the month after next.
If you voluntarily cancel your coverage, you will not be eligible to re-enroll in a health insurance plan through BeWell until the next Open Enrollment Period (OEP) unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) or are Native American or Alaska Native.
You can submit a request to cancel your coverage through your BeWell account or by contacting BeWell. The cancellation date is always the last day of the month for which the cancellation is requested.
You will need to pay your health insurance premium through the end of the month you terminate coverage.
