New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD), beWellnm (New Mexico’s Official Health Insurance Marketplace), the New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance (OSI), and the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD), announced the launch of Easy Enrollment. This new program allows New Mexicans to check a box on their state income tax form to see if they qualify for low-cost or no-cost health care coverage through Medicaid or beWellnm.

BeWellnm is dedicated to assisting individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid or employer-sponsored insurance. Our goal is to help you find affordable healthcare coverage. In fact, with beWellnm, 50% of eligible New Mexicans pay $50 or less per month for high-quality health plans.
To be eligible for low-cost or no-cost health coverage through beWellnm, you must:
- Reside in New Mexico
- Be unable to obtain health insurance through your workplace
- Not be eligible for Medicare or Medicaid
With a beWellnm plan, Native Americans living in New Mexico can continue seeing Indian Health Service or Tribal Healthcare Center doctors.

The next Open Enrollment period, available for New Mexicans between the ages of 26 and 64, will begin on November 1, 2023, and end on January 15, 2024. However, if you have experienced a qualifying event or recently lost Medicaid coverage, you may be eligible for coverage through a Special Enrollment Period!
