To enroll in a health insurance plan outside of the Open Enrollment Period (OEP), you need to have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). For example, getting married, having a baby or losing other health insurance coverage — view a full list. A qualified life event opens a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
Note: If you recently lost your Medicaid coverage, you may have up to 120 days after your coverage ends to enroll in a plan with BeWell. For all other life events, you have up to 60 days from the event date to enroll. Native Americans in New Mexico can apply for health insurance year-round. Find coverage options for Native Americans.
