How to Make Your Payment

After you enroll, you must pay your first month’s health insurance premium for your coverage to take effect. If you don’t pay the first month’s health insurance premium on time, you will have to reapply for health insurance. You may not be eligible for the same coverage start date. To make your first payment;

  1. Log in to your BeWell account.
  2. Click the “Enrollments” tab.
  3. Click the “Pay Now” button.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete your payment.
  5. You will need to set up all future payments with your insurance carrier.

Depending on the carrier, you may be able to set up reoccurring monthly payments in the “Pay Now” Portal. We encourage this to ensure you don’t miss a payment and lose coverage.

Grace Periods

Grace periods do not apply to the first month’s payment. You must pay the first month’s payment to complete the enrollment process. If you do not make this payment, your health insurance plan will not take effect, and you will not be enrolled in coverage.

If you get Advance Premium Tax Credits (APTC), you are eligible for a three-month grace period. The grace period starts with the first month of not paying your monthly health insurance premium. If you do not make a complete payment by the end of the grace period, your last day of coverage will be applied to the last day of the first month of the grace period.

If you do not get APTC, you are eligible for a one-month grace period. If you do not make a complete payment by the end of the grace period, your last day of coverage will be the last day of the grace period.

If your coverage is terminated for nonpayment, you cannot re-enroll until the next Open Enrollment Period (OEP) unless you have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

Please contact your carrier if you are going to miss a payment.
